Pricing FAQ
Clear answers for buyers and agents.
Short answers to the questions people usually ask before they pick a plan.
What’s the difference between Transactional and Marketing plans?+
Transactional plans are for app-generated email like password resets, invites, receipts, notifications, magic links, alerts, and other one-to-one or system-triggered messages.
Marketing plans are for audience-based sending like newsletters, product announcements, lifecycle campaigns, segmentation, automations, and broadcast analytics.
Do I need both a Transactional plan and a Marketing plan?+
Only if you use both products. A transactional-only SaaS app can start with a Transactional plan. A newsletter or audience campaign sender can start with a Marketing plan.
If you send both product emails and campaigns, you can add both under the same Parcel Wing account and manage them from one dashboard.
How are emails counted?+
We count one email per recipient. If you send one message to one recipient, that is one email. If you send a message to 500 recipients, that is 500 emails.
Emails are counted when Parcel Wing accepts them for sending, even if the recipient’s inbox provider later filters, defers, bounces, or rejects the message.
What happens if I go over my included monthly emails?+
Paid Transactional plans can keep sending after the included monthly volume. Extra emails are added to your invoice based on your plan’s overage rate.
Launch has simple flat-rate overages, while Flight uses volume-based rates that get cheaper as you scale.
How does yearly billing work?+
Yearly billing gives you two months free on the base subscription.
For Transactional plans, extra emails are still metered monthly. For Marketing plans, yearly billing also applies to selected contact-capacity add-ons.
How are Marketing contacts counted?+
Marketing pricing is based on the number of active contacts stored in your audience. Deleted contacts do not count.
If a contact is unsubscribed but still stored for compliance, suppression, or historical reporting, it may count toward your audience size. We’ll make your billable contact count visible before you upgrade or import a large list.
What are automation runs?+
An automation run is one execution of an automation step or workflow action. Plans include a monthly automation-run allowance.
If pay-as-you-go automation overages are enabled, extra runs are billed at $0.0015 per run. If you have both Transactional and Marketing plans, automation overages are measured once at the account level, not separately per plan.
Are dedicated IPs included?+
Most customers should start on Parcel Wing’s managed shared infrastructure.
Dedicated IPs are available on eligible higher-volume plans or as an add-on when your sending volume and reputation profile justify it. If you are sending high-volume transactional or marketing email, we can help decide whether a dedicated IP, shared pool, or separate streams are best.
Can I send through SMTP and API?+
Yes. You can send transactional email through the Parcel Wing API or SMTP relay.
The API is best for modern app integrations and official SDKs. SMTP is useful when connecting existing apps, frameworks, or tools that already support SMTP.
Can I change plans later?+
Yes. You can upgrade as your volume grows.
Downgrades may take effect at the end of the billing period depending on your current usage, active add-ons, and plan limits.
